On April 10th we received this honorable prize of 20.000 SEK founded by STIM and RUM with the
nomination:"Browsing Collection has for over 10 years been playing hard rock and works hard to help young girls and transgender persons with their music. They break the norms and fight agains prejudice to inspire the younger musicians to be able to start making music and to believe in themselves".
Huge thanks to the STIM panel for appreciating our music and recognizing everything we've worked so hard for. It's an honour and a pleasure to receive this scholarship of 25.000 SEK and thanks to the money we could finally complete the recordings and press vinyls of our album Cyber Space Buffet.
P4 Nästa is a Swedish national radio competition for artists and song writers. First we made it to the local final in Vara on which we came in first place and made it to the radio selection round. Fortunately we got picked out and got to play in the finals in Linköping where we ended up second place!
First time in history Sweden Rock Kollo was held, in cooperation with Sweden Rock Festival and Studiefrämjandet, and we go the honor to be part of it. This camp is for girls and trangender people between 13 - 17 that love hard rock music. We inspire, motivate, teach, play, rock and headbang together and finishes it with a backstage tour at Sweden Rock Festival.
Partillerocken is a live competetition that has been going on for 25 years, and we made it to the finals and ended up 2:nd place with a prize of 10.000 SEK. Also Moa got the prize for "Best guitarist of the night" with a gift card from 4Sound.
Minimello is almost like the Eurovision Song Contest but for the smallest kids. In 2015 we contributed with one song on which we have recorded all the instruments and vocals. But we did not perform it by ourselves. It was performed by a rock band of dolls made of toilet rolls!!!
Musikvideotoppen is one of Swedens most popular music video chart with artists from all over the world. Just a moment after we released the video to our song "Don't Tell Me" the video hit the list and thanks to you it stayed there for ten weeks, which is the maximum time.
We participated in the Emergenza Festival 2013 in Gothenburg. After a few shows we landed at 3:rd place and our guitarist Moa won a prize for being the bests guitarist at the entire festival. The prize was a brand new Hagström guitar.
At the annual meeting of Studiefrämjandet in Västra Götaland we received an award for beeing great ambassadors for the association and the mass education. "The band is spreading culture amongst girls and boys, young or old, and are therefore contributing to the development of the society".
In 2012 we won the music competition called "Rockslaget" at O'Learys, Skövde. We competed with not only our own songs but also with a cover of "Kung för en dag" by Magnus Uggla which every band had to perform. The prize for this competition was a trip to Berlin including gig, hotel and flight.
In 2011 we applyed for the STIM scholarship with our music and were very happy and excited to receive
25 000 sek. We used the money from the scholarship to record, mix and distribute our EP "As It Strikes Eleven".
In 2011 we got a 10.000 SEK culture scholarship from Skövde Kommun which we received on Swedens national day in Helensparken, Skövde, where we also played a few acoustic songs and had dinner together with the new inhabitants of the city.
The newspaper of Skövde, SN, published an article on new years eve 2011 that Browsing Collection was the band of the year. "The girls are talented, sober, good-looking and have had an eventful year".
Rockkarusellen (now called "Livekarusellen") is a live music competition where bands get three gigs each which get judged by a jury using a point system. We succeded to reach the final and competed against bands from all over the country. The tension was insufferable and we ended up at second place with only 2 points below the winner.
In 2011 a LOK tribute concert was arranged at Kulturhuset in Skövde where bands from nearby cities came and played a cover of one of LOK's songs. We got "Kompanjoner" and made a very special version of it which took us to the first place.
After moving on to the semi finals in the Musik Direkt live music competition in 2011 we also received a special prize of 5.000 SEK for financial support in future tours. Thanks to Kultur Ungdom!
